Mike Willams was rushed to the hospital on Sunday afternoon after the Tampa Bay Buccaneers wide reciever was stabbed in the thigh, the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office announced on Sunday. The NFL star was rushed to the St. Josephs Hospital on Sunday afternoon when he was stabbed in the thigh. The authorities have said that his brother is one of the prime suspects for the crime. Till now there has been no confirmation of how the accident took place but the authorities will be starting an investigation soon. Mike had been having a tough time with the law recently and is facing trespassing and criminal mischief charges for unidentified reason in December last year. Adding to that Williams has also had multiple domestic problems that have kept in the eye of the law recently and was also charged for damaging his neighbors property. The Buccaneers head coach, Lovie Smith has been keeping track of the activities that have kept Mike in the bad light for some time and in February he said that the player needs to get himself together and that nobody is bigger than the team and Williams has to understand that, this was said when the wide reciever was in the news for the wrong reasons when he was charged with trespasing and criminal mischief in December last year. In response to the latest developments the coach said, “Have I been disappointed in Mike Williams? Of course. There’s a standard. We’re just not going to put up with it, no matter who it is. You have to be good on the field and off the field. Simple as that. And if you’re not doing what you need to do one or the other, you have problems and that’s where Mike has to take care of a few things.” In four seasons, Williams has 215 receptions for 2,947 yards and 25 touchdowns. His best season came in 2012 when he hauled in 63 passes for 996 yards and 9 scores, and parlayed that into a six-year, $40 million extension last offseason.
